Howdy Farmers!
Work Days this week –
Monday 1 – 4
Wednesday 1 – 4
Friday 1 – 4
Studying hard? Good, power through, your almost there. The shed looks awesome, and we still have some blank spots for you to unleash on. The farm is looking like it needs some work. The weeds are quite manageable, but no weed is a good weed. The worms have mounted an assault and need to be taught a lesson. I plan on spraying some Bt (http://www.ext.colostate.edu/pubs/insect/05556.html) to fight back. Harvesting will be Monday and Friday of this week, and it’s going to be sweet.
We have shirts and produce available for the holidays. A fresh veggie present will be sure to be a hit.
Short and sweet this week, im sure you are all tired of reading. We will continue to have workdays through Christmas break. If you find yourself lonely in the holidays, you got a friend at the farm.
Berry Christmas everyone,
Brady Grimes

Thanks to some good help last week the farm is looking tidy and
the plants are enjoying the short break from the heat. We have started

still want to be friends with you. The meetings are not mandatory but we do

Howdy Farmers!
I had a great time picking watermelons with yall last week! The farmers market was a success and a big thanks to those who came out and tried their hand at melon peddling. Great job everyone.
Sorry for the late notice, but we got some fun stuff happening this Friday and I would love to see you again.
First off, we will be picking watermelons again this Friday morning at 8:30am. Last week was a lot of fun with good melons and good people.
Also, Friday afternoon at 5:00pm we will be sowing seeds to be transplanted for the fall crops. Come see how plants are born! We will also let you in on our secret SASA organic seed starting mix recipe. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about starting and caring for seedlings.
And what better to finish off a farm filled day than a watermelon bust?
Our friend and valued customer Jerry has invited us to come out to a community watermelon bust here in college station. Yes, we supplied the watermelon. If you are wondering what a watermelon bust is, don’t feel bad. It’s new to me as well. So as I understand it: it’s a community event where the streets are lined with trashcans of ice and melons. Then folks come out, bust them on the ground, and eat them. Awesome.
You may ask me, “But Brady, where is the Tejano band?”. That’s right, Tejano band. There will be a Tejano band bust’n a tune while we are bust’n a melon. Awesome.
Saturday we will be at the Brazos Valley Farmers’ Market. I would love to see you come out and try your hand at melon selling. It is quite a memorable experience.
Please send me an e-mail or call me if you would like to come out to any of these events, but also feel free to just show up. Bring friends; It is going to be a fun weekend!
Bust’n Melons,
Brady Grimes 512-522-SOIL
